An Applique Design is a digital design which can only be used in an embroidery machine. Designs are downloaded from our website. You can place the design on a USB stick and transfer it to your embroidery machine.
See our Blog Post for step by step guide on creating an applique using our designs…..
We strongly recommend never resizing any of our applique/embroidery designs or fonts. Any revision of designs should be done by the digitzer only with the original file. Resizing will greatly distort the stitches and cause a bad stitch out. It does not matter what type of software you have or what your software says it can do.
BUT WHY? – Think of a heart filled design that maybe has 1000 stitches in it. If you stretch the design you STILL have 1000 stitches but now those stitches have to go somewhere so they spread out causing gaps. If you shrink the design those 1000 stitches move closer together causing tight density in the design and leading to needle breaks and lumps.
Once you make a purchase your files will be available in your account. You will log into your account using your email and password you set up during your first checkout.
Uh Oh! If you are having issues with one of our designs PLEASE contact us at Teresa@babykaysappliques.com right away and we will promptly respond so we can help you. We spend countless hours on each design we place on our website and take great pride in the quality of stitch out. We have a great team of testers that test each design so we know it will stitch just right for you. That doesn’t make us perfect and sometimes it is possible for an issue to occur. We ask that you contact us so we can fix the problem or help you through whatever seems to be going wrong. Leaving negative feedback does not allow us to help you and we want to be sure you are 100% happy with your design from Baby Kay’s.
Please understand that due to the digital nature of our products we are not able to offer refunds. Because a digital file can not be returned to us we have no way of knowing what has been done with the file.
We DO NOT issue back credit, or refunds because you forgot to use a coupon or didn’t know about a coupon available. We make our announcements available fully to all BK followers and can not keep up with every single purchase that comes thru and misses a coupon code. You wouldn’t ask a store clerk to issue you credit for a coupon you left at home so please do not contact us to apply a coupon to your purchase you forgot to use last week. I promise we are not trying to be rude about this but if we did it for one we would have to do it for all and there is always a great deal going on at BK.
ALL designs and fonts are currently available in XXX, EXP, DST, HUS, VIP, VP3, SEW, PES, and JEF. We can not convert to any other formats at this time. If you need ART then you can use EXP or PES and convert according to your machine’s manual. You do receive ALL formats with your purchase.
ALL of our embroidery fonts also include BX format for use with Embrilliance software.
ALL of our embroidery fonts include BX format. Many customers ask what is BX and how can they use it?
BX is ONLY for use with Embrilliance software. With Embrilliance you can use the BX format to type out your embroidery fonts without having to import each letter. Embrilliance is a FREE download to use as long as you are using BX fonts but will require an upgrade to use applique designs.
Why do your applique alphas not include BX?
Only Embroidery fonts can be used in BX format. The reason we do not include most of our applique alphas is because once a letter is created in BX it flattens that design and does not allow any editing to it. It would think an applique letter A is an embroidery letter A when infact the applique has 3 layers to it… Position Stitch, Tackdown Stitch and Satin Stitch or other overlay. Once that applique letter is turned into BX it pulls all those steps into 1 step and ruins the design.
So lets say you wanted to create the name SKYLAR using Applique Letters in BX… what would happen is each letter would be flattened and you would ultimately have to stitch them individually.. S-all steps… then K-all steps…then Y-all steps.. and so on… SO the BX is useless to applique letters… In Embrilliance you can simply IMPORT each letter you need and then edit the steps to arrange all position stitches together, all tack down stitches together and all satin stitches together, making for a MUCH easier and faster stitch out. BX has NO USE for applique alphas and anyone who offers them in this format simply does not understand they are making your job much harder.
IF there is ever an update to Embrilliance to fix this and allow applique alphas to be edited in BX version I would love to hear about this and will update all alphas as needed. Until then I hope this explanation helps and that you now understand why we do not offer Alphas in BX.. ONLY embroidery fonts.
After you download your zipped file you can right click and select unzip or unpack and it will automatically unzip it to the folder you choose or sometimes your computer will set up an unpack folder that it will save your file to.
You MAY NOT use any of our images to sell your products. you MAY NOT use our designs to create new designs for sale as files. you MAY NOT use fonts to create wording for resale as files. ONLY stitched out creations are allowed for sale with our files and not recreated new files.
If a design is labeled as 4 inches then it is a true 4 inches and will not fit into a 4×4 which stitches at 3.94″. Designs that will fit into a 4×4 hoop have been labeled as 4×4.
We often run a promotion where we offer a Free design, typically an alpha, with a $10 purchase. This purchase must be $10 or more AFTER any and all discounts, sales, and coupons are applied. Your final actual paid total must be $10. Store credit also does not count towards the $10.
The FREE design is added directly to your cart once it reaches the total of $10. If the item is not added to your cart you can still checkout and contact us and we will be sure to email the free design to you.
If you still do not get your Free Promo you can contact Teresa@babykaysappliques.com
We do offer SVG cut files. These designs are for use with cut machines such as the Silhouette Cameo. They are NOT for use in embroidery machines and will not work in them. For best use you will need software which typically will come with your cut machine. These files come in JPG, PNG and SVG. Be sure you know if your cut machine can use these files.
You may use Baby Kay’s Appliques designs for personal or commercial use. Commercial use is limited to 250 pieces. Any production more than 250 pieces will need to purchase a Mass Production Liscense for the amount of $150 per design being used. Please Contact Teresa@BabyKays’Appliques to discuss this further.
If it is found that you are using designs for mass production without a proper license then legal actions will be carried out.
